According to the Department of Labor, Maryland Boasts the Nation's Lowest Unemployment Rate
In a recent report by Christian Olaniran on CBS News Baltimore, it has been noted that Maryland continues to maintain the lowest unemployment rate in the nation, as per the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The preliminary data for the state indicates a drop in Maryland’s total jobs by 4,800 and an increment in the unemployment rate by 1.8% in November. Despite the decrease in certain sectors, growth was seen in the finance, information, and public sectors, which added 800, 600, and 400 jobs respectively. On the contrary, the professional, business services, leisure, hospitality, and private education and health sectors saw a decline in job numbers. Despite these shifts, BLS highlighted that Maryland’s unemployment rate has remained near record lows.
