Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer has revealed the circumstances behind his on-air split with Edd China from the show. The two television personalities were part of the classic car restoration show for 13 years but Edd decided to leave in 2017 due to disagreements over the show’s direction. He felt that the detailed coverage of his workshop fixes would be compromised. Since his departure, Edd has moved to YouTube for his shows, with Ant Anstead and Marc Priestley replacing him as Mike’s co-host on Wheeler Dealers.

Mike mentioned in The Road to Success podcast that there was no feud or disagreement between them. He indicated that Edd just decided to move on and he respected that decision. Even though Mike hinted at his disappointment over the dissolution of their on-screen partnership, he clarified that they did not part ways due to a personal conflict. He mentioned that the last time they were together was in Paris where they were enjoying drinks at a hotel shortly before Edd left the show.

Reflecting on the past, Mike admits he wishes they were still friends but emphasized that the decision to reconnect would be up to Edd. He further spoke about the challenges Edd had faced, saying he had become disenchanted and increasingly angry during their last year working together.
