PHILADELPHIA, PA / ACCESSWIRE / February 23, 2024 / CGFNS International announced today the establishment of a Global Health Workforce Development Institute. The new institute will undertake original research and utilize knowledge obtained by CGFNS in its half-century of providing credentialing services to advance understanding of the evolution of health workforce roles and development of credentialing and certification programs and policies.

The goal of the institute is to develop global certification programs that simplify the process of recognizing practice competencies, thus helping health professionals achieve work-readiness , irrespective of their intended place of practice. This enables health professionals to demonstrate their competencies to global employers, regulators, and educators. The establishment of this institute aims to address the crisis caused by differences in standards and qualifications between countries, which hinders health workers from practicing to their full potential.

Leading the institute as its Chief is Julia To Dutka, EdD, an esteemed global expert and strategist in credential assessment and global labor mobility. The new institute will be made up of three centres of excellence. The goal is for the institute to serve as a thought leader in the space, creating innovative certification systems and supporting care delivery models that will accelerate the development of the global health workforce.
