The Office of Strategy, Science and Technology has awarded SBIR Matching Grants to eight technology companies with active federal funding. This initiative is designed to boost technologies within various sectors including advanced energy, aerospace, advanced computing, and bioscience, as announced by the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) Secretary-Designate Rob Black. The Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Matching Grant is available to New Mexico-based science and technology companies with active federal funding. The grant is intended to support startups with scalable business models that can contribute positively to the state’s economy.

The following companies have been awarded the $100,000 match for phase II: 8D Photonics LLC, OAM Photonics LLC, Osazda Energy LLC, Palladias LLC, and Solstar Space Co. Meanwhile, Aperi Computational Mechanics Consulting LLC, Weka Biosciences LLC, and Space Kinetic Corp. have been awarded the $50,000 match for Phase I. Each of these companies answers different technical challenges within their respective industry.
