EDD Gives Out Seven Grants for Science & Technology Business Startups
New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) Secretary-Designate Rob Black recently announced the Science & Technology Business Startup Grants awarded to seven technology companies. These grants are intended for New Mexico-based for-profit businesses in science and technology fields with high-growth potential. Among them include advanced computing, advanced energy, aerospace, bioscience, and water technology. The primary goal of the grant is to promote new businesses that provide a unique product or service, demonstrate a scalable product and business model, and can contribute economic benefit to the state.
In 2025, the total grant award amount has been increased from $25,000 to a maximum of $50,000. This change will provide additional critical support for the commercialization of new technologies. Among the grant recipients are EnviTrace LLC, SciVista, Inc., Sentiré Medical Systems, Inc., Solstar Space Co., Spiritus Technologies PBC, Undesert Corporation, and VastVision Technologies, LLC. Each company is awarded different amounts based on its potential for community and economic impact.
