Edd Land from Aberystwyth Finishes London Marathon Under Three Hours
A new record was set at the recent annual London marathon, with a staggering 53,000 runners participating, including four members from the Aberystwyth Athletic Club. Notably, Edd Land completed the marathon in under three hours, clocking a time of 2.56.48. This was following an incident at the Boston Marathon and a remarkable recovery from an ankle injury. Lina Land, Mel Hopkins, and Vlad Prodan also completed the race, finishing with times of 4.19.25, 4.21.32, and 4.58.46 respectively.
For Edd Land, the London marathon was an opportunity to return to racing following the unfortunate events at Boston. Despite the uncertainties surrounding his injury, Edd’s ankle healed in time for the London race. The support throughout the race was immense, which greatly contributed to the event’s success and made it all the more special for Edd and his fellow runners from Aberystwyth Athletic Club.
Closer to home, the annual Dyfi Dash Sprint Triathlon in Machynlleth is an ideal event for those looking to dip their toes in triathlon. Several competitor’s, participating in a triathlon for the first time, showcased their potential in this event.
