Experience the British Invasion in Plymouth with Jeremy Clyde
British musical duo Chad & Jeremy were among the first wave of the 1960s ‘British Invasion’ of the US music scene. Recently, Jeremy Clyde, one-half of the duo, made an unannounced appearance at Happy Pizza in Plymouth. Clyde performed many of the duo’s iconic hits for an appreciative crowd of around 85. Edd “Beatledd Raineri, host of the Beatledd Fab Four Hour on Rock 107 WEZX-FM Sunday mornings, organized the performance by Clyde.
Chad & Jeremy achieved seven Top 40 singles on the U.S. charts between 1964 and 1966, with timeless hits like “Yesterday’s Gone, “A Summer Song, and “Willow Weep for Me. Jeremy Clyde also shared stories from the halcyon days of the British Invasion and his later career as an actor in the UK. Clyde recalled the excitement and fan hysteria that greeted him and his duo partner, Chad Stuart, when they landed in Los Angeles at the height of their career.
Clyde still performs today, stating simply that it’s what he’s always done. Clyde also performed with Peter Asher after Chad Stuart’s death, bringing to life the songs of a similar British duo, Peter and Gordon.
Edd “Beatledd Raineri, who has been playing Beatles classics, rare cuts, solo tracks, and ’60s music on his radio show for almost 15 years, made this special event possible. Mr. Raineri has also interviewed more than 300 celebrities from the 60’s pop music world, TV shows, films, etc., making his show a treat for fans of music from this era.
