Edward Lee “Edd Cook, aged 78, was born on February 15, 1947 in Madison, Indiana. Son of Oscar D. and Lola Beatrice (Edwards) Cook, he graduated from Vevay High School in 1965 before obtaining an accounting degree from Indiana Business College in Columbus. His varied career included working as a food and beverage manager for numerous Columbus-based hotels and restaurants, accounting positions at Irwin Union Bank and Trust Company and Arvin Industries, and a stint as a superintendent for the Switzerland County Highway Department. He also worked as a dispatcher for the Switzerland County Sheriffs Department. Throughout his life, Edd was a dedicated community member, engaging in organizations like the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church, the Vevay American Legion Post #185, and the Switzerland County Lyons Club. A NASCAR enthusiast, Edd passed away at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on April 19, 2025. His survivors include his sister, Sherry Cook Scott, her husband, Jack “Jay , and several cousins.
Visitation will occur from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry St., Vevay, Indiana 47043. His funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2025, at the same location. Interment will take place at the Vevay Cemetery.
