The current high unemployment rate is creating significant hindrances to the enhancement of nutrition for women and children, which should be treated as a disaster. This crisis worsens after natural disasters, Farooq-e-Azam stated as the chief guest. He further mentioned, We are in the process of formulating a project that covers 75 regions where the unemployment rate is 50% or higher, aiming to aid 75,000 families with sustenance and employment support at an estimated expense of Tk819 crore.

Farooq also appealed to NGOs and foreign donor agencies to join hands on this project if interested. BRAC Chairperson, Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman stressed the importance of rehabilitating flood-hit areas, encouraging not only BRAC but also other NGOs to partake in essential projects to restore roads, initiate recovery schemes, rectify drainage systems, and reduce waterlogging in these regions by December.
