Georgia's Job Count Increases in November while Unemployment Rate Stays at 3.4%
The unemployment rate in Georgia has been stable at 3.4% for the third month in a row, according to a recent report from the state Department of Labor. Record highs have been reached in several categories, including employment and labour force numbers. Over 4.95 million jobs were reported in November, marking a slight increase of 0.3% compared with the same month of the previous year. The labour force also witnessed an increase, up by 11,263 to almost 5.36 million, another record high. Labour force participation rate in Georgia maintained its stability at 61.6% last month, up from 61.0% at the start of the year. The number of employed Georgians escalated by 9,755, reaching almost 5.18 million, another record high. Despite these positive outcomes, initial unemployment claims did see an increase of 3% last month, totalling 22,316. For the year, however, first-time jobless claims have declined by 13%.
