Interactive Business Resource Map Launched by NM Economic Development
The Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Office of New Mexico’s Economic Development Department (EDD) has launched a new tool called the Business Resource Map. This initiative is aimed at fostering entrepreneurial growth and connecting New Mexicans to various resources within the state, such as support services, funding opportunities, events, and grants. The map is live on the EDD website and it’s conceived to boost the economic development of New Mexico by supporting and aiding entrepreneurs and businesses, according to Acting Cabinet Secretary Mark Roper.
In addition to the map, a statewide community calendar is included, which features events and various funding opportunities. The map also allows for stakeholder collaboration across sectors like government agencies, educational institutions, and industry associations. The JEDI office encourages organizations to update their listings or add new resources by clicking on the Submit an Update or Resource Listing button at the bottom of the webpage.
The creation of this Business Resource Map has been made possible by a strategic statewide plan named “Empower and Collaborate - New Mexico’s Economic Path Forward. This plan aims to cultivate local talent, champion innovation, and deliver prosperity for all New Mexicans. Hence, this can be seen as an essential step in New Mexico’s economic rejuvenation as it systematically links local entrepreneurs and businesses with the resources they need.
The development of this tool displayed the coordination between EDD and Economic Impact Catalyst (EIC), a contractor that specializes in resource allocation. If you would like more information or want to explore the Business Resource Map, visit https://edd.newmexico.gov/resource-map. From there, you can make submissions or any changes by clicking the relevant button at the base of the webpage.
