Last Week Saw a Rise in Connecticut's Unemployment Claims
The U.S. Department of Labor reported that unemployment claims in Connecticut rose in the week ending December 16, seeing an increase from 3,387 in the previous week to 3,968. Nationwide unemployment claims also saw a slight increase, rising from 203,000 to 205,000 in the last week on a seasonally adjusted basis. Among the states, Oklahoma recorded the largest percentage increase in weekly claims, with a jump of 71.3%, while Vermont had the biggest percentage drop in new claims, marking a 34% decrease.
