Lori Beth Pitcock, EdD, with over 20 years’ experience in education, is a distinguished educator particularly concentrated on developing academic excellence and support for gifted students. As the dean of students at Cecil County Public Schools in Elkton, Maryland since 2024, Dr. Pitcock has played a pivotal role in developing programs aimed at improving student engagement and academic performance.

Dr. Pitcock’s devotion to education is evidenced further by her affiliations with organizations such as the National Association for Gifted Children, International Literacy Association, Council for Children with Behavioral Disability, and National Education Association. She has contributed to knowledge in her field, conducting research on teacher perceptions of twice-exceptionality, and serving as a peer reviewer for teacher resources. She continues her dedication to learning by developing her Spanish which she sees as a tool for better communication and fostering interactions with her students and the community.

Dr. Pitcock stands as an example of lifelong learning, stressing to those in her community the importance of continuous knowledge acquisition. She remains a passionate supporter of students and teachers in their curriculum journey. She aspires to become an assistant principal and eventually a principal, continuing her dedication to school administrative roles.
