Maine Unveils New Paid Family and Medical Leave Portal for Employers
The Maine Department of Labor announced the launch of the new Paid Family and Medical Leave Portal. This online system lets employers register, appoint a payroll processor, file wage reports quarterly, and make premium contributions every quarter. Over 100 employers have already registered successfully since the portal’s launch. All employers are encouraged to register on the portal as even self-employed people and tribal governments can elect coverage through it. Reports on wages are expected to commence in April 2025. More information about the portal can be found by visiting the Maine Department of Labor website. The department also has a call center specifically for PFML, reachable via (207) 621-5024 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
For those residing in California and seeking assistance in regards to their employment, many resources are available.
