March Sees a Decline in Unemployment Rates
The unemployment rate on the Island decreased slightly last month, with figures almost comparable to the same period a year ago. The total number of unemployed individuals in March fell by 14 compared to February, with the current unemployed population standing at 292. This figure is only one higher than the registered unemployed total from March of the previous year.
The sectors recording the highest number of jobless persons are the catering and entertainment industries, other business services, miscellaneous services, and retail. Notably, there were 102 job vacancies in the catering and entertainment sector, surpassed by 120 in retail, and 157 in medical and health services.
