Mike Brewer from Wheeler Dealers Discloses Significant Information About Edd China Following Their Split
The popular car restoration program, Wheeler Dealers, saw a significant shift when Edd China walked away from the show in 2017. Co-host Mike Brewer previously disclosed that the last encounter he had with Edd was in a Paris hotel room where they were drinking together. Brewer explained this experience on The Road to Success podcast, where he noted that Edd was in need of a job at the time, so Brewer offered him a gig, which was their last interaction.
Edd’s departure from Wheeler Dealers was reportedly due to creative differences with the show’s producers, leading to his establishment of a personal YouTube channel. Following Edd’s exit, the show welcomed Ant Anstead, a leading automotive mechanic, but he also left the production in 2020 when the show returned to its home base in the UK. These positions have been subsequently filled by former F1 mechanic Marc Priestly.
Mike Brewer has continued to negate any rumors of a feud or disagreement between himself and Edd. He clarified that Edd’s decision to leave was purely a personal career move, and nothing controversial took place. Mike emphasized, There was no feud, there was no split up, there was no disagreement, there was nothing. A guy left his job, that’s it. A guy was working one day and the next day he went ‘do you know what I’m going to do my own thing.'
Some viewer curiosity on the dynamics between Brewer and China may still exist, but it is confirmed that China’s departure was a personal decision and there were no harsh feelings or disputes behind his move. This allows the current show team to focus on delivering quality content without any lingering controversy, and viewers can engage with the show purely for its content and not any off-screen drama.
