The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) has reported that the state’s unemployment rate remains steady at 3.4% for November, maintaining its record low. This report shows the Commonwealth’s unemployment rate to be a full percentage point lower than its 2022 level of 4.4%. Data also indicated that Pennsylvania’s civilian labor force increased by 17,000 due to both an increase in employment (+15,000) and unemployment (+2,000).

The total non-farm jobs in Pennsylvania increased by 10,900, reaching a new record high of 6,178,700 jobs. This surge marks the 34th increase within three years, with a record set for ten months in 2023. The sectors prescribing the most significant job growth were education and health services, which saw an increase of 56,900 positions over the year.
