Prioritizing Students: A Worthy Cause
The Raritan Valley (New Jersey) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is organizing its 8th Annual Swing with The Links – Tycene Pirtle Edd Memorial Golf Outing. The event, scheduled for September 29, is set to take place at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, NJ. The Golf Outing offers an opportunity for seasoned golfers, curious newcomers, and supporters of good causes to gather for camaraderie and competition. For those looking to learn the art of golf, the Learning Academy is open for applications.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go towards a special initiative, the “Finish-line Funding , aimed at helping scholarship recipients on the verge of graduation to cover unforeseen expenses that may hamper their successful completion of their degrees. This initiative and the honoring of the late Tycene Pirtle Edd, former chapter president, adds sentimental value and purpose to the event. Lamyra Clarke-White, Chair of the Golf Outing and former chapter president, highlighted the importance of providing Finish Line Funding, referring to it as a critical support for students who only need a modest boost to cross the graduation finish line.
