The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry has stated that the state’s unemployment rate stayed at a historic low in November 2023, standing at 3.4%. This information was released on December 22. As reference, record keeping for the unemployment rate started in January 1976. It was also noted that the US national unemployment rate dipped by two-tenths of a percentage point from October, landing at 3.7%. Furthermore, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was a full percentage point lower than its November 2022 rate of 4.4%. The number of Pennsylvania residents either employed or seeking employment increased by 17,000 over the last month due to growth in both resident employment and unemployment rates.
