The Palace Commits to Continual Efforts in Tackling Unemployment
The Filipino government will continue its efforts to provide job opportunities for Filipinos, according to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro. The statement was made following a report from the Philippine Statistics Authority that indicated a decrease in unemployment rates in the country. From 2.16 million jobless individuals in January, the number dipped to 1.94 million in February. Castro said the decrease in unemployment is a positive sign that the government’s initiatives to alleviate poverty and provide income opportunities are working.
Among these initiatives, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has been particularly successful. The program helps beneficiaries secure jobs on-the-spot, offering immediate financial relief. Additionally, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has also revealed plans to conduct monthly job fairs throughout the nation, to further bolster employment rates. Such measures are part of the government’s ongoing commitment to create a sustainable and inclusive economy where job opportunities are accessible to all Filipinos.
