Macao’s general unemployment rate for the period from September to November was reported to be 2.3%. This depicts a slight decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the previous period (August-October), according to statistics released by the special administrative region’s statistics department. The same report indicated that the unemployment rate among local residents was 2.9%, showing a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the August-October segment. Key metrics such as the underemployment rate saw a decrease of 0.1 percentage points, coming down to 1.4%. The labor force participation rate was reported to be 68.4%.

The total labor force in Macao was said to be around 380,700 people from September to November. The number of people employed totaled to 372,000, and the number of employed residents came to 287,800. These figures represented an increase of 1,500 and 400 respectively, when compared to the previous time frame.

On the other hand, the number of unemployed individuals saw a decrease of 500 from the previous time period, bringing the total to 8,600. It was additionally reported that the percentage of individuals seeking their first job decreased by 0.4 percentage points, amounting to 14.3% of the total unemployed. Also, the count of underemployed fell by 200 from the previous time frame, bringing the total to 5,400.
