West New York Business Owes Over $100K: State Places it on 'Wall of Shame'
A West New York general contracting business, Y and E General Contractor, has been targeted by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOL) for owing more than $100,000 in violations of state unemployment compensation and disability benefits laws. It’s one of 19 businesses recently added to the DOL’s Workplace Accountability in Labor List (WALL), due to their failure in addressing their outstanding liabilities for contraventions of wage, benefit, or tax laws. These new additions bring the total number of businesses on the WALL to 101, who collectively owe $12.6 million. These dues include unpaid taxes, contributions, or direct payments to their workers. The 19 new businesses on the list owe a total of $1.1 million in unpaid contributions to the Unemployment Compensation Fund and State Disability Benefits Fund.
