A West New York general contracting business, Y and E General Contractor, is being called out by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOL) for owing more than $100,000 for violations of state unemployment compensation and disability benefits laws. It is one of 19 businesses that were recently added to the DOL’s Workplace Accountability in Labor List (WALL) for failing to settle their outstanding liabilities relating to violations of wage, benefit, or tax laws. The newly added businesses owe a total of $1.1 million in unpaid contributions to the Unemployment Compensation Fund and State Disability Benefits Fund. The 101 businesses posted on The WALL collectively owe $12.6 million, either directly to their workers or in unpaid taxes or contributions.
