Why is the Chief Minister Silent on Unemployment Issues Despite His Interest in Youth Matters? Questions TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar
Indian politician and Rajya Sabha MP from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, has criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy over his handling of the rising unemployment rate in the state. Despite the Chief Minister’s recent launch of the 47-day sports festival, Aadudam Andhra in Guntur, Kumar asserts that Reddy is not addressing the more pressing issue of growing joblessness among the youth.
Kumar further questioned Reddy’s approach to the state’s economic issues, specifically why he didn’t take more substantial measures to prevent the decline of industry in Andhra Pradesh. According to Kumar, this inaction has led to dire circumstances, with young residents taking their own lives due to lack of access to basic survival necessities.
The TDP MP contrasted the current state government’s approach to that of the previous TDP regime, led by chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, stating that Naidu allocated a higher percentage of the budget towards sports development as compared to Reddy. Kumar also highlighted the TDP’s commitment to creating more job and self-employment opportunities for the youth once they return to power.
